The GIBRALTAR DCIH25-102 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and press tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 618 pounds across a maximum deflection of 1.38 inches. The 4-inch free length, 1-inch hole diameter, and 0.5-inch rod diameter make it a direct-fit component for standard die set configurations. It is color-coded red to indicate heavy-duty load rating, consistent with ISO 10243 color classification. Tool and die makers, machinists, and precision fabricators are the primary installers.
This spring is suited for industrial press and die applications requiring consistent, high-load cycling performance. The trapezoidal wire shape increases the active coil contact area compared to round wire, improving load capacity and fatigue life under repeated compression cycles. Typical installations include injection molds, stamping dies, and progressive die sets in manufacturing environments where consistent spring return force and dimensional repeatability are critical. The DCIH25-102 conforms to NAAMS and ISO 10243 standards, making it compatible with metric and North American automotive tooling specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install die spring for stamping dies, molds, and press tooling that require a 1-inch hole diameter, 0.5-inch rod diameter, and 4-inch free length heavy-duty spring conforming to NAAMS or ISO 10243 specifications.
Installation is performed by tool and die makers or machinists during die assembly or maintenance. Ensure the die set is fully de-energized and the press ram is secured or blocked before replacing springs. Inspect the spring pocket and guide rod for wear or burrs before seating the new spring. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection of 1.38 inches, as compressing to solid will damage the spring and tooling.
