The GIBRALTAR DCIH12.5-76 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for high-load tooling and stamping applications. It features a 0.5-inch hole diameter, a 9/32-inch (0.2813-inch) rod diameter, and a 3-inch free length. The trapezoidal wire shape delivers a higher load capacity relative to the coil cross-section compared to round-wire designs. With a maximum deflection load of 112.00 pounds and a maximum deflection of 1.46 inches, this spring is built to handle demanding cycle requirements in industrial press tooling environments. It is installed by tool-and-die technicians, maintenance machinists, and mechanical engineers working with stamping dies and fixture assemblies.
This die spring is suited for use in stamping dies, punch presses, plastic injection molds, and similar tooling fixtures where consistent return force and long fatigue life are required. The Red color coding indicates heavy-duty load rating per standard die spring classification systems, making quick visual identification straightforward during tooling setup or changeover. It is packaged individually and sold in a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a standard replacement die spring for heavy-duty tooling applications conforming to NAAMS and ISO 10243 dimensional standards; verify hole diameter, rod diameter, free length, and load rating against the existing tooling specification before installation.
Installation should be performed by qualified tool-and-die or maintenance personnel with the press or tooling fixture fully de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm that the rod diameter and hole diameter clearances match the tooling pocket before pressing the spring into place. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 1.46 inches, as over-compression will reduce fatigue life and may cause premature failure. Inspect mating tooling surfaces for burrs or damage that could cause uneven loading or lateral deflection.
