The GIBRALTAR DCIB32-64 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for high-load tooling and stamping applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section and is manufactured from chromium alloy steel, giving it the strength to handle a maximum deflection load of 1,186 pounds (5,277.70 N). With a free length of 2.5 inches and a maximum deflection of 0.76 inches, this spring is built to deliver consistent, repeatable force in demanding press tool and die environments. The yellow color coding identifies it as an extra heavy-duty rating per international die spring standards. Licensed tool and die technicians and machine maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
This die spring is used in metal stamping dies, punch press tooling, injection mold components, and similar industrial machine applications where controlled, high-force compression is required. It fits over a 0.625 inch rod and seats into a 1.25 inch hole, making it compatible with standard die set bores of those dimensions. It is well suited for both OEM die construction and field replacement in production tooling where consistent spring rates are critical to part quality and press performance.
Designed as a standard interchangeable die spring for applications requiring a 1.25 inch hole diameter, 0.625 inch rod diameter, and 2.5 inch free length. Conforms to NAAMS and ISO 10243 dimensional standards, allowing direct substitution in tooling designed to those specifications.
Installation is performed by tool and die technicians or maintenance machinists during die construction or scheduled tooling maintenance. Ensure the die set is fully de-energized and the press ram is locked out before removing or replacing springs. Verify the bore and rod dimensions match the spring specifications before seating. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.76 inches, as over-compression will reduce fatigue life and can cause premature failure.
