The GIBRALTAR CP4282-G is a soft core pin used in industrial tooling, fixturing, and workholding applications. The pin measures 7/16 inches in diameter with an overall length of 10 inches and a usable pin length of 9-3/4 inches. It features an 11/16-inch head diameter and a 1/4-inch head height for positive seating and retention. Constructed from steel with a soft hardness rating, this pin is well-suited for applications where machinability or staking after installation is required. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this fastener type.
This soft core pin is intended for use in jigs, fixtures, dies, and general tooling assemblies where a headed drive pin with a soft, deformable core is specified. The soft steel construction allows the pin to be peened or staked in place without specialized hardened tooling, making it practical for light production and repair work in machine shops and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use soft core pin for jigs, fixtures, and tooling assemblies requiring a 7/16 inch diameter headed drive pin.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist or tool and die technician. Ensure the receiving bore is cleaned and deburred before driving the pin to prevent galling or misalignment. A standard pin punch and hammer or arbor press is appropriate for installation. Wear appropriate eye protection when driving or staking pins.
