The GIBRALTAR A23-10-G is a spoked offset handwheel with a chrome-plated finish, designed for use on valves, machinery, and industrial equipment where manual control is required. The offset spoke design allows the operator to apply torque without knuckle interference against flat or recessed mounting surfaces. Built with an iron hub and five evenly spaced spokes, this handwheel measures 10 inches in diameter with a 3/8-16 threaded bore. It weighs 10 pounds and is suited for demanding applications where a durable, corrosion-resistant surface is needed.
This handwheel is used in industrial, manufacturing, and mechanical maintenance applications. The offset configuration makes it well suited for panel-mount or surface-mount installations where a standard handwheel would interfere with surrounding structure. It is typically installed by millwrights, maintenance mechanics, and machine builders on valve stems, lead screws, and manual actuator shafts requiring a secure threaded connection.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation handwheel for valves, machines, and manual actuators using a 3/8-16 threaded shaft with a bore diameter of 0.622 inches.
Installation is typically performed by a millwright or mechanical technician. Power down or de-energize the connected equipment and relieve any system pressure before removing or installing the handwheel. Thread the handwheel onto the shaft to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth and secure with any locking hardware per the equipment service manual. Do not overtighten by impact methods, as the iron hub may crack under shock loading.
