The GIBRALTAR 88365176 is a tapered, U-shaped strap clamp machined from C1018 carbon steel with a black oxide coating for corrosion resistance. It measures 1.5 inches wide and 0.75 inches high, with an overall length of 6 inches and 3.5 inches of travel. The stud size is 17/32 inches and the tap size is 1/2-13 inches. This clamp is used to secure workpieces or components to machine tables, fixtures, and fabrication setups. The tapered profile allows for positive clamping force as the clamp is tightened against the work surface.
This strap clamp is suited for metalworking, machining, and fabrication environments where reliable workholding is required. It is commonly used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals setting up milling machines, drill presses, and manual machining fixtures. The black oxide finish reduces surface reflectivity and provides light corrosion protection in shop environments. Sold individually, it is compatible with standard T-slot table setups that accept 1/2-13 stud hardware.
Designed for use with standard 1/2-13 T-slot stud and bolt systems commonly found on milling machine tables and machining fixtures. Accepts a 17/32-inch stud diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom professionals setting up workholding fixtures. Secure the clamp using a properly sized 1/2-13 stud, step block, and nut; ensure the clamp bears on the workpiece and step block at roughly equal heights to avoid rocking. Do not overtighten without a step block supporting the clamp tail, as this can damage the workpiece or deflect the clamp. Inspect threads on the stud and tap before installation to ensure proper engagement.
