The GIBRALTAR 57011G is a standard threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty holding applications in mechanical assemblies. The steel body accepts a 10-32 thread with a 3/4 inch thread length and delivers a maximum plunger diameter of 0.092 inches and a 1/8 inch projection. Initial end force is 1.30 pounds and final end force is 2.70 pounds, making this plunger suitable for low-force detent and locating work. A locking element is included to secure the plunger against loosening under vibration. The body and nose are both steel with a black finish. Installed by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with fixtures, jigs, and production tooling.
This plunger fits threaded holes requiring a 10-32 fastener. It is used in light industrial and precision assembly environments where repeatable positioning or spring-loaded detent action is needed. Typical applications include fixture locating pins, panel latches, and mechanical indexing points in production tooling and machine components. The compact body length of 3/4 inch suits confined installation spaces where a full-size plunger would not fit.
Designed as a standard 10-32 threaded spring plunger for use in any tapped hole requiring a 10-32 thread. Suitable for mechanical fixtures, jigs, and tooling assemblies that call for a spring plunger with a steel body and locking element.
Install into a clean, properly tapped 10-32 through or blind hole using a 1/16 inch hex key. Ensure the mating thread is free of debris before installation to avoid cross-threading the steel body. Do not exceed the torque that seats the locking element flush, as overtightening can damage the thread or deform the plunger housing. Depressurize or de-energize any assembly before servicing spring plunger positions in active fixtures or automated tooling.
