The GIBRALTAR 41406G is a blind tapped T-slot nut designed for securing workpieces and fixtures in T-slot tracks on machining tables, fixture plates, and structural framing systems. Threaded 3/8-16 right-hand with a blind tap, this nut accepts standard 3/8-16 bolts and studs without a through-hole, keeping the bottom of the nut closed. It is manufactured from 1018 steel with a black oxide finish that provides moderate corrosion resistance in shop environments. Base dimensions are 0.875 inches wide by 0.34375 inches tall. Overall length is 1.125 inches with an overall height of 0.625 inches. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders install this hardware when building workholding setups on mill tables or slotted aluminum framing.
The 41406G fits T-slots with a 0.5625 inch slot width, which corresponds to a 15 mm nominal table slot size. It is suited for use in machine tool T-slots, modular fixturing systems, and extruded aluminum framing profiles that accept inch-series T-slot hardware. Typical applications include milling machine table fixtures, welding positioner tables, and modular workholding builds where a blind-tapped nut is preferred over a through-tapped version to prevent coolant, chips, or debris from passing through the fastener body.
Designed for use in T-slot tracks with a 0.5625 inch slot width and a 15 mm nominal table slot size, accepting 3/8-16 inch-series bolts and studs in right-hand thread applications.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers as part of workholding or fixture assembly. Slide the nut into the T-slot from the end of the track or through an access opening, then rotate 90 degrees to engage the slot walls before threading in the mating fastener. Ensure the T-slot channel is free of chips and debris before seating the nut to prevent binding or cross-threading. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and de-energize or lock out any machine before working inside the table slot area.
