The GIBRALTAR 40955G is an unequal double threaded stud designed for bolted assemblies where two different thread engagement lengths are required on a single fastener. The stud features a 3/4-10 UNC thread on both ends with an overall length of 8 inches. The long end provides 2.5 inches of thread engagement while the short end provides 0.875 inches, allowing the installer to control which end threads into a fixed component and which end accepts a nut. Built from Grade 5 carbon steel with a black oxide finish, this stud suits heavy-duty mechanical, structural, and industrial fastening applications. Licensed tradespeople and millwrights working in equipment maintenance, piping supports, or machinery assembly will find this stud appropriate for permanent and semi-permanent joint configurations.
This unequal double threaded stud is suited for applications in HVAC equipment mounting, mechanical room pipe hangers, pump and blower assemblies, and general industrial machinery where a removable stud connection is preferred over a standard bolt. The 3/4-10 thread size and Grade 5 material rating make it appropriate for moderate-to-high load bearing connections in both indoor and sheltered outdoor environments. The black oxide finish provides minimal corrosion resistance and is intended primarily for lubricated or indoor service conditions.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-installation fastener for any mechanical assembly requiring a 3/4-10 unequal double threaded stud with an 8 inch overall length and Grade 5 carbon steel construction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic, pipefitter, or HVAC technician familiar with threaded fastener practices. Thread the short end fully into the tapped or mating component before securing the assembly with a nut on the long end. Inspect threads for damage before installation and apply thread lubricant or anti-seize compound as appropriate for the service environment. Always de-energize and lock out equipment before accessing fastener locations inside operating machinery.
