The GIBRALTAR 34262 is a non-locking spring plunger with a threaded stud body, designed for indexing, positioning, and locating applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. Built from steel with a zinc-plated finish, this plunger features a 5/8-11 inch thread size and a 1 inch thread length, making it suitable for secure installation into tapped holes in machinery, fixtures, and tooling setups. The unit delivers an initial end force of 3 pounds and a final end force of 6 pounds, providing consistent spring tension for light-duty holding and detent functions. Installation is handled by mechanical and industrial maintenance technicians.
This spring plunger is suited for use in production fixtures, jigs, machine tools, and general industrial equipment where repeatable positioning or light retention is required. The knobless threaded stud design allows flush or recessed mounting where a protruding knob would interfere with surrounding components. The 1-5/16 inch body length and 5/16 inch plunger projection make it a compact solution for tight assembly envelopes.
Designed as an OEM-style and aftermarket replacement spring plunger for industrial fixtures, jigs, machine tools, and positioning assemblies that require a 5/8-11 threaded non-locking plunger with a knobless stud body.
Installation is performed by threading the stud body into a pre-tapped 5/8-11 hole using standard hand tools; ensure the mating thread is clean and free of debris before installation. Verify that the plunger projection of 5/16 inches is compatible with the detent or locating feature in the mating component before final assembly. Do not exceed the rated end force range when specifying mating detent geometry. Stud thread size is 1/2-13, which should be confirmed against the mating lock nut or fixture thread before ordering.
