The GIBRALTAR 34150 is a non-locking knob handle plunger with a threaded stud body, designed for use in mechanical positioning, indexing, and workholding applications. The plunger features a 1/2-13 external thread with a thread length of 0.875 inches and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.249 inches. End force ranges from 2.5 pounds initial to 10 pounds final, making it suitable for light-duty clamping and locating tasks. Constructed from steel with a zinc finish, the 34150 offers corrosion resistance for general industrial and shop environments. The knobless threaded stud design allows installation into tapped holes where a flush or recessed head profile is needed.
The GIBRALTAR 34150 is used in fixture plates, jigs, machine tool setups, and assembly tooling where repeatable plunger positioning is required. The non-locking plunger type allows smooth in-and-out travel without a twist-lock mechanism, which is preferred in high-cycle or quick-release applications. The threaded stud style, without an attached knob, is commonly selected when actuation will be handled by tooling, cams, or contact surfaces rather than by hand. This part is sold individually and is appropriate for both production floor and maintenance shop use.

Installation is performed by threading the stud body into a prepared 1/2-13 tapped hole using a wrench on the head flats or appropriate tooling. Ensure the mating bore for the plunger tip is clean and free of burrs before installation to prevent damage to the plunger diameter tolerance. Secure the plunger to the desired depth and verify free axial plunger travel before placing the assembly into service. No special certifications are required for installation, but standard machine shop practices and torque judgment should be applied to avoid thread stripping.
