The GIBRALTAR 23040.0124 is an unequal double threaded stud designed for bolted assemblies where two different thread engagement lengths are required on a single fastener. Manufactured from grade 10.9 alloy steel with a heat-treated finish, this stud delivers high tensile strength suited to demanding mechanical and structural applications. The long thread measures 63 mm, the short thread measures 15 mm, and an unthreaded shank of 22 mm separates the two ends, producing an overall length of 100 mm. Thread fit conforms to DIN 787. Installation is performed by licensed millwrights, maintenance mechanics, and industrial technicians working on equipment assemblies, machine frames, and structural connections.
This stud is used in industrial and commercial mechanical assemblies where a fixed stud must be permanently driven into one component while a nut or threaded component is engaged on the opposite end. The unequal thread lengths allow one end to seat deeply into a tapped hole while the shorter end accepts a fastening nut or coupling. Typical applications include machine housings, gearbox covers, engine mounts, and structural fixtures requiring repeatable, high-strength threaded connections. No flat is present on the shank, consistent with standard stud installation using a stud driver or double-nut method.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fastener for industrial equipment and mechanical assemblies requiring M12 x 1.75 unequal double threaded studs conforming to DIN 787 specifications.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified mechanic or millwright using a stud driver or the double-nut method. Ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of debris before driving the stud. Verify thread engagement depth and torque the fastening nut to the assembly manufacturer's specification. Follow applicable machinery safety and lockout/tagout procedures before working on any equipment.
