The GIBRALTAR 22720.0086 is a headless rolling ball end clamping screw designed for precision fixturing and workholding applications. Machined from steel with a steel rolling ball, it accepts an M8 thread and measures 31.2mm overall length. The rolling ball end allows for angular contact against workpieces, distributing clamping force evenly without marring surfaces. With a maximum load capacity of 3,272 pounds, it is suited for demanding clamping tasks on machine tools, jigs, and fixtures. A 4mm hex key drives the headless body, keeping the profile low in tight setups. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
This clamping screw fits standard M8 threaded fixture plates, modular workholding systems, and custom jig bodies used in machining centers, mills, and drill press setups. The headless design allows the screw to be seated flush or sub-flush within a clamping block, making it practical in low-clearance tooling environments.
