The GIBRALTAR 11697 8 is a fixed lifting eye bolt rated for 2,600 pounds of lifting capacity, designed for use in rigging, hoisting, and load-securing applications across industrial and construction environments. Built from C-1035 grade forged steel, this eye bolt is fully threaded along its 4.5-inch shank, providing consistent thread engagement through thick plates, beams, or structural members. The 1/2-13 thread size is a standard unified coarse (UNC) specification. This bolt does not include a shoulder, making it suited for straight vertical lifts where a shoulder-type design is not required. Licensed riggers, millwrights, and maintenance mechanics are the primary installers.
This eye bolt is intended for overhead lifting applications in industrial facilities, construction sites, maintenance operations, and equipment rigging. Typical use includes anchoring to structural steel, machinery frames, or threaded mounting points where a full 4.5-inch thread engagement is achievable. The without-shoulder design limits safe use to axial (in-line) load angles only. Consult applicable rigging standards before use in any angular load scenario.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed eye bolt for use in rigging and hoisting setups requiring a 1/2-13 threaded fastener with full-length thread engagement in structural or machinery mounting applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified rigger or maintenance mechanic familiar with applicable ASME B30.26 and OSHA rigging standards. Ensure the receiving threaded hole provides full thread engagement equal to or greater than the bolt shank length to achieve rated capacity. Because this eye bolt has no shoulder, loading must be applied strictly in-line with the shank axis — angular loads will significantly reduce capacity and risk failure. De-energize and lock out all equipment before installing or removing this fastener in any live system.
