The GEORGE RISK INDUSTRIES INC. 2600 is a surface-mount water sensor designed to detect the presence of water or moisture in residential and light commercial applications. Operating at 12 volts DC, the unit ships with a 6-inch lead for direct wiring to a compatible alarm control panel or monitoring system. The sensor mounts flush to a floor or surface, making it suitable for installation in areas prone to water intrusion such as mechanical rooms, utility closets, and equipment pads. Licensed security and low-voltage technicians are the primary installers of this device.
The 2600 is used wherever early water detection is needed to protect HVAC equipment, water heaters, sump systems, or finished spaces from leak damage. Its compact surface-mount form factor allows placement directly on floors near appliances, inside drain pans, or along perimeter walls. The 6-inch lead length accommodates typical low-voltage wiring runs to nearby junction points or panel zones. This sensor is sold individually and is appropriate for both new installations and retrofit applications in existing security or building automation systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install water detection sensor for use with 12VDC alarm control panels and low-voltage monitoring systems in residential and light commercial environments.
Installation of the 2600 should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security technician in accordance with local codes and NEC guidelines for Class 2 wiring. Power down the alarm panel or monitoring system before making any wiring connections. Mount the sensor on a clean, level surface to ensure proper contact with any water that may accumulate. Avoid installing in locations where standing water is continuous, as the sensor is intended for detection of incidental moisture, not submersion.
