The George Risk Industries 412P-W is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) industrial surface mount reed switch with a 36-inch lead, finished in white. Reed switches of this type serve as magnetic contact sensors in access control, alarm, and industrial monitoring applications. The SPDT configuration provides both normally open and normally closed circuit options from a single device, giving installers flexibility when wiring into control panels or logic circuits. The 36-inch lead length reduces the need for field splicing at the point of installation. The white housing is suited for flush or surface mounting on door and window frames in commercial and light industrial settings.
This switch is designed for surface mount installation on doors, windows, hatches, or access panels where magnetic proximity sensing is required. It is commonly installed as part of intrusion detection systems, industrial machine guarding, or building automation contact monitoring. The SPDT output makes it compatible with a wide range of control panel inputs that require either a normally open or normally closed supervising loop.
Designed as an OEM-style surface mount SPDT reed switch for use in industrial access control, alarm, and contact monitoring systems where a magnetic reed sensor with a 36-inch lead is required.
Installation is typically performed by licensed alarm technicians or industrial electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and system manufacturer guidelines. Power down or de-energize the control panel loop before making wiring connections to the lead terminals. Mount the switch body on the fixed frame and position the actuating magnet on the moving door or panel, maintaining proper gap alignment per the system design. Avoid sharp bends in the lead wire near the switch body to prevent damage to internal reed element connections.
