The GEORG FISCHER 9861-084 is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple designed for use in pressure piping systems handling both potable and non-potable water. Made from Chlorfit CPVC compound, it features male NPT threads on both ends for straightforward inline connections. With a maximum operating pressure of 425 psi at 73 degrees F and a maximum temperature rating of 210 degrees F, this nipple is suited for demanding plumbing and industrial water systems. At 1/2-inch nominal pipe size and 6 inches in overall length, it installs quickly wherever a short threaded extension or connection is needed. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This nipple is intended for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems in residential and commercial applications. It is rated for potable water service and meets NSF 61 requirements, making it appropriate for domestic water distribution. It is also suitable for non-potable water systems, industrial process lines, and chemical handling applications where CPVC is specified. Its gray color is standard for Schedule 80 CPVC, making it visually distinct from Schedule 40 white PVC systems on the job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using 1/2-inch nominal pipe size components.
This nipple should be installed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installation. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape — do not use petroleum-based compounds, which can degrade CPVC. Hand-tighten first, then wrench-tighten carefully to avoid cracking the fitting; CPVC does not tolerate the same torque levels as metal pipe.
