The GEORG FISCHER 9829-338 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling designed to connect a 3-inch socket-end pipe to a 2-inch socket-end pipe in pressure piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC compound, this fitting delivers superior chemical resistance and elevated temperature performance compared to standard PVC. At 3.61 inches in length and weighing approximately 1 pound, the coupling is a direct-connect fitting with a socket-by-socket (SxS) end configuration. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial, commercial, or mechanical systems that require a reliable, pressure-rated reduction between two pipe sizes.
This coupling is suited for use in chemical processing, industrial fluid handling, hot and cold water distribution, and other applications where elevated temperature and chemical exposure are a concern. The Corzan CPVC material rating makes it appropriate for systems operating at temperatures and pressures where standard thermoplastic fittings would not be acceptable. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC socket-end piping systems using 3-inch and 2-inch pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC solvent-cement joining. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing piping. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service.
