The GEORG FISCHER 9801-582FB is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing tee designed for industrial and commercial piping systems that require a transition from an 8-inch main run to a 4-inch branch outlet. This bushed fitting uses a socket-by-socket-by-socket (SxSxS) connection style, allowing solvent-cemented joints on all three ports. Schedule 80 CPVC offers greater wall thickness and pressure ratings than Schedule 40, making it appropriate for demanding fluid-handling applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting in chemical processing, industrial water treatment, and other corrosive-fluid piping systems where thermoplastic construction is specified.
This reducing tee is suited for above-ground and below-ground commercial and industrial piping runs where CPVC is required for its chemical resistance and elevated temperature tolerance. The bushed design consolidates the reducing function into a single fitting, eliminating the need for a separate bushing at the branch outlet. It is commonly installed in process piping, chilled water distribution, and chemical feed lines where a change in branch diameter must be made inline.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using socket-end connections in commercial and industrial fluid-handling applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including IPC provisions for thermoplastic piping. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and follow the cement manufacturer's cure time requirements before returning the system to service. Do not apply heat or use incompatible adhesives on CPVC fittings.
