The GEORG FISCHER 9801-166FB is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing tee fitting designed for pressure piping systems that require a reliable branch reduction in a single fitting. Built from Corzan CPVC compound, this tee handles the thermal and chemical demands common in industrial and commercial plumbing lines. The fitting uses a socket-by-socket-by-socket (SxSxS) connection configuration, accepting 1-1/4 inch run connections and a 1/2 inch branch outlet. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting where flow must be diverted or distributed from a main line to a smaller branch without additional reducers.
This reducing tee is suited for hot and cold water distribution, chemical process lines, and industrial fluid handling applications where CPVC piping is specified. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capability and mechanical strength compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand service conditions in both commercial and light industrial settings. The SxSxS socket ends accept solvent-cement joining for a permanent, leak-resistant connection.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC solvent cementing. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid supply completely before cutting into an existing line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement rated for the pipe schedule and service conditions. Do not apply mechanical stress to the fitting during the solvent cement cure period.
