The GEORG FISCHER 829-292FB is a Schedule 80 PVC reducing coupling designed to connect pipes of two different diameters in a single fittings connection. This bushed-style coupling transitions from a 2.5-inch socket to a 2-inch socket and is manufactured from rigid PVC, making it suitable for pressure piping systems handling water, chemicals, and other compatible fluids. At 1.1 pounds and 4.08 inches in length, the fitting is compact and straightforward to install. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial, commercial, and municipal piping systems are the primary installers of this type of Schedule 80 fitting.
This reducing coupling is intended for use in Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems where a 2.5-inch line must be reduced to a 2-inch connection. Typical applications include chemical distribution, water treatment, irrigation mainlines, and industrial process piping. The socket-by-socket (SXS) configuration accepts solvent-cement jointing on both ends, providing a permanent, leak-resistant connection that meets common pressure ratings for SCH80 PVC systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems using 2.5-inch and 2-inch pipe runs joined by solvent cement.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IAPMO plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing piping. Use only PVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 pipe, and allow full cure time before returning the line to service. Do not apply heat to PVC fittings during installation.
