The GEORG FISCHER 817-080 is a 45-degree elbow fitting designed for PVC pressure piping systems. It connects two pipe segments at a 45-degree angle using socket-style connections on both ends, allowing solvent-cement joining for a leak-tight seal. This fitting is sized at 8 inches and is suited for industrial, municipal, and commercial plumbing and fluid-handling applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in systems that require directional changes without the sharper transition of a 90-degree elbow.
The 817-080 is used in large-diameter PVC piping runs where flow direction must change at a gradual 45-degree offset. Typical applications include water treatment, irrigation mains, industrial process piping, and commercial plumbing distribution systems. The socket-by-socket configuration accepts standard 8-inch PVC pipe on both ends and is joined using approved PVC solvent cement and primer per manufacturer and code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 8-inch PVC pressure piping systems using socket-end solvent-cement connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with PVC solvent-cement procedures. Shut down and depressurize the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Apply the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement in accordance with ASTM D2564 and local plumbing code requirements. Do not apply heat to assist joining on PVC pressure fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service.
