The GEORG FISCHER 801337FB is a Schedule 80 PVC reducing tee configured in a 3-inch by 1-1/2-inch bushed socket-by-socket-by-socket (SXSXS) arrangement. This fitting reduces flow from a 3-inch main run down to a 1-1/2-inch branch using an internal bushing built into the tee body. Schedule 80 PVC construction provides greater wall thickness and pressure rating compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for demanding plumbing and industrial piping systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting to create branch connections while stepping down to a smaller branch line size in a single fitting, reducing the need for a separate bushing or reducer.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and commercial plumbing applications, as well as industrial process piping, chemical distribution, and irrigation systems where PVC is an approved material. The SXSXS socket configuration accepts solvent-cemented pipe on all three ports. It is commonly installed in drain, waste, vent, and pressure piping layouts where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using standard 3-inch and 1-1/2-inch socket-end pipe and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting in or modifying any fitting. All three socket ports require proper surface preparation, primer application, and approved PVC solvent cement per the fitting and cement manufacturer instructions. Allow full cure time before restoring system pressure.
