The GENESIS CABLE 55051004 is a 12 AWG, 1-pair solid conductor, unshielded fire alarm cable finished in red. Designed for use in fire detection and notification wiring systems, this cable carries signals between control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances. The solid conductor construction supports reliable low-resistance connections in fixed routing applications. The red jacket provides immediate visual identification as fire alarm wiring, which is a common requirement on commercial and residential fire system installations. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This cable is suited for unshielded fire alarm circuit wiring in both residential and light commercial applications. It is typically used where NFPA 72 installations require dedicated, color-identified wiring between alarm panels and field devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, and horn-strobe units. The solid conductor format is well suited for home-run or loop wiring runs in conduit or plenum-rated raceway systems, depending on the jacket rating of the installed cable. Sold as a single unit (EA).
Designed as an OEM-style fire alarm cable for use in conventional and addressable fire alarm signaling circuits requiring unshielded, solid-conductor 12 AWG wiring.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and follow proper lockout-tagout procedures before making any wiring connections. Verify that the cable jacket rating is appropriate for the installation environment, including conduit, open air, or plenum spaces, before routing. Do not splice or intermix fire alarm conductors with power or data wiring in the same raceway unless permitted by code.
