The GENESIS CABLE 44085004 is a 14 AWG 2-conductor solid fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Riser) with an overall shield and red jacket. Designed for use in fire detection and signaling systems, this cable carries low-voltage alarm signals between devices and control panels in compliance with NEC Article 760 riser applications. The solid conductor construction maintains consistent conductivity and low resistance over long runs. The foil shield provides protection against electromagnetic interference, making it suitable for noise-sensitive fire alarm circuits. Licensed fire alarm installers and low-voltage contractors are the primary installers of this cable in commercial and residential riser applications.
This cable is used in fire alarm and life safety wiring applications where a riser-rated, shielded solid conductor cable is required. Common install scenarios include vertical runs between floors in riser shafts, as well as horizontal distribution within fire alarm systems. It is appropriate for use with conventional and addressable fire alarm control panels that accept 14 AWG field wiring. The red jacket provides visual identification consistent with fire alarm industry standards and aids in inspection and code compliance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard field wiring cable for residential and commercial fire alarm systems requiring FPLR-rated 14 AWG 2-conductor shielded solid cable.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage contractor in accordance with NEC Article 760 and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the fire alarm control panel before making connections. Route riser cable through fire-rated penetrations using listed firestop methods as required by the applicable building code. Do not exceed the cable bend radius during pulling or routing in conduit or cable trays.
