The GENESIS CABLE 44061104 is a 16 AWG 2-conductor solid-conductor FPLR-rated fire alarm cable supplied in a 1000-foot box in red. FPLR (Fire Power Limited Riser) rating qualifies this cable for riser installations in commercial and residential buildings, where cables must pass through floors and between stories. Solid conductors at 16 AWG provide reliable signal continuity for initiating devices, notification appliances, and control panels in fire detection and life-safety systems. The red jacket color follows industry convention for fire alarm wiring, aiding identification during installation and inspection.
This cable is used in fire alarm system wiring for commercial buildings, multifamily residential construction, schools, healthcare facilities, and light industrial applications. It is well suited for connecting smoke detectors, pull stations, horn-strobe devices, and annunciator panels back to a fire alarm control panel. Riser-rated installations that require cables to run vertically through floor penetrations or enclosed shafts are a primary application. Electricians and low-voltage fire alarm technicians are the typical installers on these projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-supply fire alarm cable suitable for use with conventional and addressable fire alarm control panels requiring FPLR-rated 16 AWG 2-conductor solid wiring.
Installation must comply with NEC Article 760 governing power-limited fire alarm circuits and any applicable local amendments. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and related circuits before making any wiring connections. Riser penetrations must be firestopped in accordance with applicable building code after cable is routed. Only qualified electricians or licensed fire alarm technicians should perform connections to the fire alarm control panel.
