The GENESIS CABLE 43135004 is a 14 AWG, 2-conductor solid-conductor fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Fire Power Limited Riser) and supplied on a 500-foot reel in red jacket. It is designed for use in riser applications within fire detection and notification systems, where the cable must be routed between floors through vertical shafts or risings. The solid conductor construction maintains consistent impedance and supports reliable signal transmission on supervised alarm circuits. Licensed fire alarm installers and low-voltage contractors are the typical end users for this cable.
This cable is suited for residential and light commercial fire alarm installations where a riser-rated, unshielded solid-conductor cable is required by the system design or local authority having jurisdiction. The red jacket color provides quick visual identification during rough-in, inspection, and service. It is commonly pulled from the reel during initial system installation and terminated at control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances per the system drawings.
Designed as an FPLR-rated unshielded solid-conductor fire alarm cable for use with residential and commercial fire alarm control panels and initiating or notification circuits where 14 AWG 2-conductor riser cable is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm or low-voltage contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the fire alarm control panel before terminating or extending any circuit wiring. FPLR-rated cable is approved for riser use but is not rated for plenum spaces — verify the required cable rating with the local authority having jurisdiction before installation. Secure and support the cable at intervals required by the NEC and avoid routing near high-voltage conductors without proper separation.
