The GENESIS CABLE 43111004 is a 16 AWG 2-conductor solid unshielded fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Riser), supplied on a 1000-foot roll in red jacket. FPLR-rated cable is listed for use in riser applications, meaning it is approved to run vertically between floors inside a building without requiring metal conduit in those pathways. The solid conductor construction supports reliable low-resistance connections across long home runs typical in fire alarm wiring. This cable is installed by licensed fire alarm technicians and licensed electricians working on commercial or residential life-safety systems.
This cable is used in fire alarm and life-safety detection systems where riser-rated wiring is required by code. Common applications include connecting initiating devices such as smoke detectors, pull stations, and heat detectors back to a fire alarm control panel in multi-story buildings. The red jacket provides visual identification as a fire alarm circuit, which is a common installation and inspection requirement on commercial job sites. It is suited for dry, indoor riser installations in both new construction and retrofit fire alarm projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fire alarm cable for use in 2-wire initiating device circuits and signaling line circuits requiring FPLR-rated conductors in riser installations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and local authority having jurisdiction requirements. De-energize and lock out the fire alarm control panel before making any wiring connections. FPLR cable is approved for riser use but is not rated for plenum spaces — verify the correct cable rating for the installation environment before pulling wire. Secure and support the cable per NEC Article 760 requirements throughout the run.
