The GENESIS CABLE 43015804 is a 22 AWG, 4-conductor solid-conductor fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Riser) for use in commercial and residential fire detection and signaling systems. FPLR rating means the cable meets UL 1424 requirements for riser applications, restricting flame spread between floors. Solid conductors provide stable, low-resistance connections over long runs — a key consideration for supervised alarm loops and Class B wiring. This cable ships in a red jacket, the industry-standard color coding for fire alarm wiring, making identification and inspection straightforward during installation and service.
This cable is used in fire alarm control panel wiring, initiating device circuits, notification appliance circuits, and auxiliary control circuits in both new construction and retrofit applications. Riser-rated FPLR cable is required in vertical runs that pass through one or more floors in non-plenum spaces. Typical installers are licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage electricians working under NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements.
Designed for use in UL-listed fire alarm systems requiring FPLR-rated, 22 AWG 4-conductor solid unshielded cable in riser installations. Verify panel and device terminal compatibility with 22 AWG solid conductor terminations before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm or low-voltage contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and follow lockout/tagout procedures before connecting or splicing cable. FPLR cable must not be substituted for FPLP plenum-rated cable in air-handling spaces. Support and secure cable runs per NEC Article 760 spacing requirements, and avoid running fire alarm cable in the same conduit as power-limited circuits of other systems unless permitted by code.
