The GENESIS CABLE 32961002 is a composite access control cable designed for low-voltage security and access control system installations. This multi-conductor cable combines 18 AWG 4-conductor and 22 AWG multi-pair configurations in a single jacket, making it well suited for runs that require both power and signal conductors in one pull. The composite design reduces conduit fill, simplifies rough-in, and keeps related conductors bundled together. Licensed security installers and low-voltage technicians are the primary trade installing this cable in commercial and residential access control applications.
This cable is used in access control panel installations where a single cable run must carry both power and communication signals to card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and related hardware. The composite construction is particularly useful in new construction and retrofit projects where minimizing the number of separate cable runs through walls and conduit is a priority. It is sold by the unit as indicated by the supplier packaging designation.
Designed for use in low-voltage access control and security system wiring applications where composite multi-conductor cable is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems technician in accordance with applicable NEC Article 725 requirements for Class 2 and Class 3 remote-control and signaling circuits. De-energize all panels and power supplies before terminating conductors. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the cable minimum bend radius, and do not staple directly through the jacket.
