Genesis Cable 32221012 16/4 Stranded Shielded CL2P Cable

Product Description

The GENESIS CABLE 32221012 is a 16 AWG, 4-conductor stranded shielded cable rated CL2P for plenum-rated security and low-voltage wiring applications. The CL2P plenum rating meets fire and smoke requirements for installation in air-handling spaces without conduit. Supplied on a 1,000-foot reel in a beige jacket, this cable is suited for commercial and residential security, access control, and low-voltage signal runs. Licensed electricians and low-voltage security installers work with this cable type in environments where code demands plenum-rated wiring.

This cable is designed for security system installations including intrusion detection, access control panels, and similar low-voltage signal wiring in commercial and residential buildings. The plenum-rated jacket makes it appropriate for installation in ceiling plenums and raised-floor air-return spaces where standard CL2 or non-rated cable is not code-compliant. The stranded conductors provide flexibility during pulls through conduit or open plenum spaces, and the overall shield helps reduce electromagnetic interference on signal lines.

Key Features

• 16 AWG stranded conductors for flexibility during installation pulls
• 4-conductor configuration suits multi-wire security and access control circuits
• Overall shield reduces electromagnetic interference on low-voltage signal lines
• CL2P plenum rating meets NEC requirements for air-handling space installation without conduit
• Beige jacket blends with standard ceiling and wall finishes
• 1,000-foot reel reduces splices on long runs and simplifies job-site inventory

Compatibility

Designed as a plenum-rated, stranded, shielded low-voltage security cable suitable for CL2P-listed wiring applications in commercial and residential security, access control, and signal distribution systems.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or licensed low-voltage contractor in accordance with NEC Article 725 and local amendments. Power down all connected panels and control equipment before terminating conductors. The plenum rating applies only when the cable is routed through listed plenum air-handling spaces as defined by the authority having jurisdiction. Do not exceed the cable's rated voltage or use this cable for line-voltage power circuits.
