Genesis Cable 32041109 22/4 Stranded Shielded Plenum Cable

Product Description

The GENESIS CABLE 32041109 is a 22 AWG 4-conductor stranded shielded plenum-rated security cable, supplied in a 1,000-foot pull box in gray jacket. Designed for low-voltage security and alarm wiring in air-handling plenum spaces, this cable meets the fire and smoke propagation requirements required for above-ceiling and HVAC plenum installations. The stranded conductor construction provides flexibility during pull and termination, and the overall shield supports noise rejection in environments with electrical interference. It is installed by licensed security technicians, alarm contractors, and low-voltage electricians.

This cable is suited for commercial and residential security system installations where plenum-rated wiring is required by code. Typical applications include intrusion detection panels, door and window contact wiring, motion detector runs, and access control field wiring routed through ceiling plenum cavities or air-return spaces. The 1,000-foot box format supports larger commercial projects or multiple residential runs from a single reel.

Key Features

• 22 AWG stranded conductors for flexibility during installation pulls
• 4-conductor configuration supports multi-wire security device wiring
• Overall shield provides protection against electromagnetic interference
• Plenum-rated jacket meets fire and smoke propagation requirements for air-handling spaces
• Gray jacket for standard security wiring identification
• 1,000-foot pull box format reduces handling time on larger jobs

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style low-voltage security cable for use with standard intrusion detection, access control, and alarm systems requiring 22 AWG 4-conductor plenum-rated wiring.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or alarm contractor in compliance with NFPA 72, NEC Article 760, and applicable local codes. De-energize all panel and device circuits before terminating conductors. Plenum-rated cable must be used in all air-handling ceiling and return-air plenum spaces where non-plenum cable is prohibited by code. Avoid sharp bends or kinking during pull to preserve shield integrity and conductor continuity.
