The GENESIS CABLE 31211102 is a 16 AWG 2-conductor stranded, unshielded security cable supplied on a 1000-foot roll in yellow jacket. It is designed for low-voltage security and alarm system wiring applications, including motion detectors, door and window contacts, keypads, and other peripheral devices. The stranded conductor construction provides flexibility during installation, making it well suited for routing through walls, conduit, and junction boxes. Licensed alarm installers and low-voltage technicians are the primary users of this cable.
This cable is used in residential and light commercial security system installations. Its plain, unshielded construction is appropriate for environments where electromagnetic interference is not a significant concern. The yellow jacket aids in quick identification during rough-in and service work. The 1000-foot roll quantity is sized for larger jobs or stocking inventory in a service vehicle or supply room.
Designed as a standard low-voltage stranded security cable for use with residential and commercial alarm panels, motion sensors, door and window contacts, and similar 16 AWG compatible security system devices.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or alarm technician in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 70 (NEC) Article 725 for Class 2 and Class 3 remote-control and signaling circuits. De-energize all connected equipment before terminating conductors. Avoid running low-voltage security cable in the same conduit as line-voltage wiring. Secure and protect the cable per local inspection requirements.
