The GENESIS CABLE 22191009 is an 18 AWG, 12-conductor stranded shielded security cable rated CMR (riser) and FT4, supplied on a 1,000-foot roll in gray jacket. CMR rating qualifies the cable for in-wall and riser installations where fire-spread resistance is required by code. FT4 certification meets Canadian flame-test requirements, making this cable suitable for cross-border projects. The stranded conductor construction adds flexibility during pull-through and termination compared to solid-conductor alternatives. The overall shield provides protection against electromagnetic interference common in security and low-voltage signal environments. Licensed security and low-voltage electricians are the primary installers of this product type.
This cable is used in commercial and residential security system installations, including alarm panels, access control systems, motion detectors, door and window contacts, and similar low-voltage signal applications. The 1,000-foot roll length is suited for new construction rough-in or large retrofit projects where continuous runs reduce splice points. The gray jacket color is standard for security cable and aids identification in conduit or J-hook installations alongside other low-voltage wiring.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard supply cable for residential and commercial low-voltage security, alarm, and access control system wiring applications requiring 18 AWG 12-conductor shielded CMR-rated cable.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security system technician in accordance with NEC Article 725 and applicable local codes. De-energize all connected panels and control equipment before terminating conductors. Maintain minimum bend radius recommendations to avoid damaging the shield or conductor insulation during pull-through. Do not install in conduit or spaces shared with line-voltage wiring unless the installation meets applicable code separation requirements.
