The GENESIS CABLE 21965002 is a multi-conductor composite access control cable combining 18 AWG 4-conductor and 22 AWG multi-conductor runs in a single shielded jacket. The 22 AWG section includes 2-conductor, 4-conductor, and 6-conductor groupings, each with foil shielding for signal integrity. Rated CMR (Communications Multipurpose Riser), this cable meets riser-rated fire code requirements for vertical runs between floors. It is designed for low-voltage access control, security, and intercom system installations handled by licensed low-voltage or security technicians.
This cable is suited for commercial and residential access control installations where multiple signal types must be run together in a single pull. The 18 AWG conductors handle power or lock strike feeds, while the 22 AWG pairs carry data, audio, or control signals. The composite design reduces conduit fill and simplifies rough-in work in new construction and retrofit security system projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard installation cable for low-voltage access control, intercom, and security systems requiring composite multi-conductor riser-rated cable.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems technician in compliance with NEC Article 800 and local building codes. De-energize all connected panels and lock-strike power supplies before terminating conductors. Maintain minimum bend radius to avoid damaging foil shields, and do not over-cinch cable ties, which can degrade shielding continuity. Riser-rated cable must be used in vertical runs between floors; plenum-rated cable is required in air-handling spaces.
