Genesis Cable 21155509 18/4 Stranded Riser Cable 500 Ft

Product Description

The GENESIS CABLE 21155509 is an 18 AWG, 4-conductor stranded riser-rated security cable supplied in a 500-foot pull box. Constructed for low-voltage security and alarm wiring, this unshielded cable carries a riser (CMR) rating, making it suitable for vertical runs between floors in commercial and residential buildings. The stranded conductor configuration provides flexibility during installation, reducing the risk of conductor fatigue in routed or bundled runs. The gray jacket offers a neutral finish that blends into standard installations. This cable is used by licensed security technicians, alarm installers, and low-voltage contractors.

This cable is designed for interior low-voltage security system wiring, including intrusion alarm panels, motion detectors, door and window contacts, and access control devices. The riser rating permits vertical shaft and floor-to-floor routing where plenum-rated cable is not required. It is well suited for residential and light commercial security installations where a 4-conductor run is needed between a control panel and field devices.

Key Features

• 18 AWG stranded conductors for flexibility in routed runs
• 4-conductor configuration supports multi-wire security device connections
• Riser (CMR) rating approved for vertical floor-to-floor installations
• Unshielded construction for standard low-voltage security applications
• Gray jacket for a clean, neutral appearance in finished spaces
• 500-foot box format for efficient pull-and-cut installation

Compatibility

Designed as a standard 18 AWG 4-conductor riser cable for use with low-voltage security panels, alarm systems, and access control equipment requiring CMR-rated wiring.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems contractor in compliance with applicable NEC Article 725 requirements for Class 2 and Class 3 remote-control and signaling circuits. De-energize all connected equipment before terminating conductors. Observe minimum bend radius guidelines to avoid damaging stranded conductors, and do not use riser-rated cable in air-handling plenums where plenum-rated cable is required by code.
