Genesis Cable 21141109 18/2 Stranded Riser Cable 1000 Ft

Product Description

The GENESIS CABLE 21141109 is an 18 AWG 2-conductor stranded riser-rated security cable supplied in a 1000-foot pull box. This unshielded cable is built for in-wall and between-floor runs in commercial and residential security, access control, and low-voltage alarm installations. The stranded conductor construction provides flexibility during routing through conduit, along framing, or through tight pathways. The riser (CMR) rating qualifies this cable for vertical runs between floors without an external conduit where code permits. The gray jacket blends with standard construction finishes and simplifies identification in mixed-cable environments.

This cable is a standard choice for licensed low-voltage and alarm technicians installing intrusion detection panels, door contacts, motion detectors, glass-break sensors, and similar security devices. It is suited for both new construction rough-in and retrofit work in residential and light commercial buildings. The 1000-foot box format supports full-run jobs without mid-run splices, reducing installation time and connection points.

Key Features

• 18 AWG stranded conductors for flexibility in routing and pull installations
• 2-conductor configuration for standard security device wiring runs
• Riser (CMR) rating for vertical between-floor installations per NEC Article 800
• Unshielded construction keeps weight and diameter low for easy pulling
• Gray PVC jacket for clean appearance in finished spaces
• 1000-foot box format minimizes splices on long runs

Compatibility

Designed as a standard low-voltage security cable for use with intrusion alarm panels, access control devices, and other 18 AWG 2-conductor compatible security system components in riser applications.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or alarm technician in compliance with NEC Article 800 and applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and connected devices before terminating conductors. Avoid running this cable in the same conduit or bundled tightly with high-voltage power wiring, as this is an unshielded cable. Maintain minimum bend radius during pulls to prevent conductor damage.
