The GENERALAIRE G99-14 is a remote mount extension kit for the G-99 Air Filter Gage, designed for use in residential and light commercial forced air heating and cooling systems. The kit extends the gage installation location up to 10 feet from the sensing point, allowing flexible placement where the display is easy to read. A vane inside the gage lifts in proportion to the negative pressure between the blower and the filter. As the filter loads with dust and debris, the vacuum increases and the vane rises to signal that a filter change is required. Licensed HVAC technicians install and calibrate this gage.
The G99-14 remote mount kit is intended for forced air systems where the blower compartment is not easily accessible or visible from a convenient service area. It supports installations where the primary gage cannot be mounted directly on the blower compartment enclosure. The gage senses pressure conditions between the air filter and the blower, and can be calibrated for a negative pressure range of 0.1 to 0.4 inch w.c. A vacuum increase of 0.10 to 0.15 inch w.c. within that calibrated range triggers the filter-change indication.
Designed for use with the GENERALAIRE G-99 Air Filter Gage as a remote mount extension, suitable for residential and light commercial forced air heating and cooling systems where the gage must be located away from the blower compartment.
Installation should be performed by an experienced HVAC service technician. Before drilling or modifying the blower compartment enclosure, power down the system at the disconnect and thermostat. Drill a 3/8 inch hole in a vertical surface enclosing the blower compartment, taking care not to contact internal components. After mounting, calibrate the gage with a clean filter installed and the blower running at its highest speed using a small screwdriver on the calibration screw.
