Ge WR17X12284 Paddle Dispenser Oem Replacement

Product Description

The GENERAL ELECTRIC WR17X12284 is an OEM paddle dispenser designed for GE refrigerators. The paddle assembly activates the ice and water dispenser mechanism when pressed, routing the appropriate output based on the selected setting. This part is a direct factory-specification replacement, meaning it matches the original component in form, fit, and function. HVAC and appliance technicians install this part when the original paddle is cracked, broken, or fails to engage the dispenser switch properly. It restores normal ice and water dispensing operation without modification to the dispenser housing.

This paddle dispenser is intended for residential GE refrigerator repair and maintenance. It is a common service part replaced during routine appliance repair calls when the dispenser paddle shows physical damage or no longer actuates correctly. Appliance service technicians performing dispenser assembly repairs will find this OEM part fits directly into compatible GE refrigerator models without additional hardware or adaptation.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified appliance service technician. Before beginning any dispenser assembly work, disconnect the refrigerator from its power source. The dispenser paddle typically snaps or clips into the dispenser housing - do not force the component during seating, as this can crack the housing or damage the switch actuator behind it. Confirm the replacement paddle actuates the dispenser switch fully before returning the unit to service.
