The GASOILA BT08 is a hard-setting pipe thread sealant supplied in a 1/2 pint can. It is designed to seal threaded pipe joints against leaks in gas, water, and steam systems. The red compound cures to a rigid, non-yielding seal that resists vibration loosening. Rated for service temperatures from -60 degrees F up to 350 degrees F, it covers a wide range of operating conditions found in residential and commercial mechanical systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians apply it during installation and maintenance of threaded pipe assemblies.
Federal Gasoila Hard-Set sealant is suited for threaded connections in gas piping, water supply lines, steam lines, and general plumbing systems. It works on iron, steel, brass, and copper fittings. The hard-set formula is commonly used where a permanent, non-adjustable seal is required, such as on gas risers, boiler connections, and mechanical room piping. It is applied by brush directly to male pipe threads before assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style thread sealant for use on standard NPT threaded pipe and fitting connections in plumbing, HVAC, and gas piping systems.
Applied by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician working on threaded pipe assemblies. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling any existing joint. Apply sealant to clean, dry male threads only, keeping the first thread clear to prevent compound from entering the pipe bore. Allow the sealant to cure per manufacturer guidance before pressurizing the system, and verify joint integrity with an approved leak-detection method after startup.
