The GARDNER BENDER 79-201 is a water-based, non-toxic poly-gel cable pulling lubricant formulated for use across a wide temperature range of 28 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Designed for electrical and low-voltage installation work, it reduces friction during cable pulls through conduit, allowing wire to move through runs with less force. The gel dries to a clear, non-conductive film, which makes post-pull handling, stripping, and terminating cleaner and faster. Licensed electricians and wire-pull crews are the primary installers. The blue-tinted formula is easy to spot during application and cleans up with soap and water.
The 79-201 is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever cable needs to be pulled through conduit. It is compatible with a broad range of cable insulation types, including fiber-optic cable, low-density polyethylene jacketed cable, linear low-density polyethylene jacketed cable, polyurethane jacketed cable, and semi-conducting jacketed cable. It works in both standard metallic and non-metallic conduit systems. The squeeze bottle format makes manual application straightforward on the job site, and the lubricant can also be applied using a pump for larger pulls.
Designed for use with all types of conduit and cable insulation, including fiber-optic cable, low-density polyethylene, linear low-density polyethylene, polyurethane, and semi-conducting jacketed cables.
This product is applied by licensed electricians during wire-pull operations before energizing circuits. Apply the lubricant to the cable jacket at the conduit entry point and along the pull as needed, either manually via the squeeze bottle or with a compatible pump applicator. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for the cable type and conduit fill being used. Do not use on energized conductors.
