The GALVAN INDUSTRIES gr6258 is a hot-dip galvanized steel ground rod designed for electrical grounding systems in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The rod measures 5/8 inch nominal diameter with an actual diameter of 0.539 to 0.555 inches and 8 feet in length. High-strength steel is immersed in molten zinc to form a rust-proof barrier with a minimum zinc thickness of 3.9 MIL per ASTM A-123. The galvanized finish delivers outstanding corrosion resistance for long-term performance in direct-burial grounding installations. Each rod is stamped for inspectability and traceability. Licensed electricians and grounding system installers drive this rod into earth as part of a compliant grounding electrode system.
The gr6258 is suited for use in grounding electrode systems installed per the National Electrical Code. It applies to new construction and retrofit grounding work across residential, light commercial, and industrial sites where a driven rod electrode is required. The matching coupling number for rod extensions is GRC-54G, allowing multiple rods to be coupled end-to-end where soil conditions or code require greater depth. Rods are packaged in a standard bundle of 100 units with a sub-bundle of 5, making this SKU appropriate for contractors stocking job-site supply.
Compatible with GRC-54G coupling for rod-to-rod extensions. Meets NEMA GR-1 and ANSI C135.30 requirements. Designed as a direct-burial driven ground rod for use in NEC-compliant grounding electrode systems. Color code is Copper.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC Article 250 and applicable local codes. Power down the system and confirm lockout/tagout procedures before making grounding connections. Drive the rod to the required burial depth using a ground rod driver or rotary hammer with appropriate driving tool — do not use the rod tip as a pry point or lever. Inspect the stamping on the rod before installation to confirm traceability documentation for the inspection record.
