Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified maintenance technician in accordance with NEC requirements. Always de-energize the circuit and confirm voltage is absent at the socket before replacing the bulb. Use a porcelain or ceramic lamp holder rated for the wattage and heat load of an infrared bulb, as plastic holders are not suitable. Position the fixture so the reflector face is directed toward the component being protected and ensure adequate clearance from combustible materials.
