The FUNCTIONAL DEVICES ribu1c is an enclosed pilot relay rated at 10 amps with a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switching configuration. It accepts a wide coil input range of 10-30 volts AC or DC as well as 120 volts AC, making it compatible with both low-voltage control circuits and line-voltage applications. The enclosed housing protects the relay contacts from dust and debris in mechanical room and rooftop installations. HVAC technicians and controls contractors install this relay to interface low-voltage building automation or thermostat signals with higher-current loads such as fan contactors, pumps, and damper actuators.
The ribu1c is commonly installed in commercial and residential HVAC control panels, air handling units, and hydronic systems. Its dual coil voltage range makes it well suited for applications where the control signal source may vary between low-voltage class 2 circuits and standard 120-volt branch circuits. It is a widely used pilot relay in economizer controls, fan proving circuits, and equipment interlock wiring.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install pilot relay for low-voltage and line-voltage HVAC control circuits requiring SPDT switching up to 10 amps.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC controls technician in accordance with NEC requirements for the circuit voltage class involved. De-energize and lock out all power to the control panel before wiring or replacing the relay. Verify that the load current does not exceed the 10-amp contact rating. Secure the relay in a suitable enclosure or panel per applicable local codes.
