The FREUD D0704DHA is a 7-1/4 inch, 4-tooth polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tipped circular saw blade engineered specifically for cutting fiber cement board, including James Hardie siding and related cementitious substrates. The PCD triple chip tooth geometry delivers cutting life up to 60 times longer than standard carbide-tipped blades, making it a cost-effective choice for high-volume siding installers and remodeling contractors. The blade mounts on a standard 5/8 inch arbor and fits most 7-1/4 inch worm-drive and sidewinder circular saws. An anti-vibration body design reduces noise and stabilizes the blade during cuts, while a non-stick Perma-Shield coating resists corrosion and prevents buildup on the plate.
This blade is designed for residential and light commercial siding work where fiber cement products are cut regularly. It is well suited for production framing and siding crews cutting James Hardie planks, panels, and trim on the job site. The thin kerf laser-cut design reduces the load on the saw motor, which helps extend tool life and reduces operator fatigue during full workdays of repetitive cuts. The PCD construction generates approximately 5 percent less respirable dust compared to standard carbide blades, an important consideration on enclosed job sites and for compliance with silica dust exposure guidelines. Blade installation and changes must be performed by a qualified installer following the saw manufacturer's safety procedures — disconnect the saw from power before changing blades. Confirm arbor size and blade direction before tightening the arbor nut to the saw manufacturer's specification. When cutting fiber cement, work in a well-ventilated area and use appropriate NIOSH-approved respiratory protection in accordance with OSHA silica dust exposure guidelines even when using a reduced-dust blade.
