The FRAM GROUP PH3506 is a spin-on engine oil filter designed to protect internal engine components by removing contaminants from circulating motor oil. It fits a wide range of domestic General Motors-platform gasoline engines across passenger cars, light trucks, and marine applications. The filter traps particulates that cause accelerated wear on bearings, camshafts, and cylinder walls, maintaining clean oil flow throughout the lubrication system. Licensed automotive technicians, fleet mechanics, and marine engine service pros are the primary installers of this unit. It ships in a package quantity of six units, making it practical for shop inventory.
This filter is rated for use across a broad spread of model years and vehicle lines on the GM platform, covering passenger cars from the mid-1990s through the mid-2000s as well as light-duty trucks and SUVs in the same era. It also covers Indmar marine engine applications, making it a cross-application part useful in both automotive and marine service environments. The wide fitment range reduces the number of individual SKUs a shop needs to stock for routine oil service work on GM-family engines.
Compatible with 1996-1998 Buick, 1975-1977 Buick, 2003-2004 Buick Truck, 2004 Cadillac, 2003-2004 Cadillac Truck, 1996-2004 Chevrolet, 2002-2005 Chevrolet/GMC Truck, 1999 Chevrolet/GMC Truck, 2003-2004 GMC, 2003-2004 GMC Gasoline, 1999 GMC Gasoline, 2003-2004 GMC Truck, 2002-2004 Hummer Truck, Indmar Marine, 2003-2004 Isuzu, 2003-2004 Isuzu Truck, 1996-2001 Oldsmobile, 2004 Oldsmobile Truck, 2004 Pontiac, 1996-2002 Pontiac, 1977 Pontiac.
Oil filter replacement is performed by a licensed automotive or marine technician during a standard oil service interval. Always shut down the engine and allow it to cool before beginning service, and drain the existing oil before removing the old filter to avoid spills. Apply a light coat of fresh oil to the new filter gasket before installation and hand-tighten only — do not use a filter wrench to torque the final installation unless the manufacturer spec requires it. Dispose of used filters in accordance with local environmental regulations for petroleum-soaked materials.
