The FORNEY INDUSTRIES INC 60073 is a cylindrical rotary file with a flat top, designed for material removal, shaping, and deburring across a wide range of materials. Built from special tempered steel with hardened cutting edges, this shank-mounted file handles steel, bronze, fiberglass, plastic, and many other surfaces. The cutting head measures 1 inch in diameter by 0.5 inch in length, mounted on a 1/4-inch shank. Maximum operating speed is 2,500 RPM. It is sized and shanked for use with standard rotary tools, die grinders, and drill press setups commonly found in fabrication, welding, HVAC, and general trade work.
This rotary file is suited for residential and commercial trade applications where controlled material removal is needed in tight or irregular spaces. Typical uses include weld dressing, port matching, pipe deburring, and shaping tasks on metal, composite, or plastic components. The cylindrical flat-top profile makes it effective for flat-bottom grooves, blind pockets, and surface blending. It is sold in a package of 6 units, making it practical for shops and field technicians who go through abrasive tooling regularly.
Designed for use with rotary tools and die grinders accepting a 1/4-inch shank. Suitable for material removal and shaping tasks on steel, bronze, fiberglass, plastic, and similar materials in fabrication and trade service applications.
Install the 1/4-inch shank securely into the collet of the rotary tool or die grinder before operation. Confirm the tool is powered off and unplugged before changing or seating the bit. Do not exceed the 2,500 RPM maximum rating. Eye protection and appropriate PPE should be worn during use, as rotary filing generates chips and debris.
