The FORNEY INDUSTRIES INC 44557 is an E312-16 stainless steel specialty welding electrode designed for stick (SMAW) welding applications across most grades of steel. This 3/32-inch diameter rod uses a stainless alloy formulation that produces a highly ionized arc, making it resistant to shorting out during the weld pass. The electrode delivers a superior combination of tensile strength and elongation, making it well-suited for demanding joints and out-of-position fillet welds. Each package contains 1 pound of electrodes and is sold in a case of 6 units. Licensed welders and experienced maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This electrode is intended for joining abrasion-resistant steels as well as heat- and corrosion-resistant stainless alloys. It is best suited to horizontal fillet welds and performs reliably on a wide range of stick electrode power sources, including AC and DC machines.
