The FLUKE 80PK-18 is a pipe surface clamp-on temperature probe kit designed for HVAC technicians and refrigeration service professionals. It uses a Type K thermocouple with a durable ribbon sensor to measure surface temperatures on pipes from -20 to 300 degrees F. The probe clamps directly to pipe surfaces for stable, repeatable contact readings, making it well-suited for superheat and subcooling measurements during refrigerant system service. The 39-inch cord provides working clearance inside equipment cabinets and air handlers without straining the connection to a compatible meter.
This probe is used in residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration applications where accurate pipe surface temperature measurement is required. Typical use cases include measuring suction and liquid line temperatures for superheat and subcooling calculations, verifying supply and return line temperatures on chilled water systems, and diagnosing heat pump performance. It attaches to pipe sizes from 0 to 2.5 inches in diameter.
Designed for use with any meter or instrument that accepts a standard Type K thermocouple input. Fits pipe diameters from 0 to 2.5 inches.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians and refrigeration service professionals. Before attaching the probe, ensure the pipe surface is clean and free of heavy scale or insulation debris that could affect sensor contact. Secure the clamp snugly against the pipe to minimize air gaps and improve reading accuracy. Disconnect the probe from the meter before storing to avoid strain on the connector.
