The FLEXDUCT 1465 is a UV-inhibited fiberglass flexible air duct rated at R-8 insulation, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC distribution systems. Measuring 14 inches in diameter and 25 feet in length, this duct provides efficient conditioned-air delivery from supply plenums or branch takeoffs to diffusers and registers. The R-8 insulation value helps minimize thermal loss across long duct runs. The black outer jacket is UV-inhibited, making it suitable for installations where incidental light exposure may occur. HVAC installers and sheet metal contractors specify this product for forced-air systems where high-efficiency insulation ratings are required by local energy codes.
This duct is used in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems as well as light commercial air distribution applications. It is suited for branch runs, trunk extensions, and flexible connections between rigid ductwork and diffusers or boot fittings. The 25-foot length accommodates longer branch runs without splicing. The 14-inch diameter is commonly specified for higher-volume supply or return branches in larger residential systems and small commercial applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation flexible duct for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a 14-inch diameter, R-8 insulated flex duct with a UV-inhibited outer jacket.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor in accordance with applicable local mechanical codes and SMACNA flexible duct installation guidelines. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before connecting or disconnecting duct sections. Avoid compressing or sharp-bending the duct, as restrictions reduce airflow and degrade system efficiency. Secure all connections with approved clamps or ties and seal with UL 181B-rated mastic or tape.
